Collaboration between BPIPI and HIPMI in the Surabaya Anniversary Series

Surabaya, Mei 21st 2022 The Indonesian Footwear Industry Empowerment Center and the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) Surabaya collaborated with the Surabaya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) to provide a special gift for the city of Surabaya on its 729th anniversary. The special gift was packaged in an event called the Surabaya Business Forum with the theme #LokalBerdaya which was held on May 21-22 at Balai Pemuda Surabaya.

In the event, BPIPI and HIPMI presented a number of regional heads including the Mayor of Surabaya Eri Cahyadi, the Regent of Sidoarjo, the Regent of Gresik, the Deputy Governor of East Java Emil Elestianto Dardak, and a number of young East Java entrepreneurs including Stephen Panghegar from Revolt Industry, David Wantino from Shoekashoes, Anchors Bawono from Portblue and Junaidi from Fashio Shoes to East Javanese figures ranging from Dahlan Iskan, Kirun, Cak Kartolo and several key opinion leader (KOL) Bayu Skak, dr. Tirta, Dochi Sadega, Pongki Barata and Tretan Muslim who also participated in the event.

The spirit of bringing young entrepreneurs from Surabaya and its surroundings has the spirit not only to gather but more than that, namely the spirit of working together to create a movement, namely the Surabaya Business Forum. So that the Surabaya Business Forum is not just an annual ceremonial event, but as a movement that can generate benefits that can be directly felt by people in all circles and increase industrial partnerships.

In the Surabaya Business Forum there are sub-sessions of events that will have an impact on IKM, including HIPMI Talk, Business Competition, training or workshops for IKM, HIPMI Market, Focus Group Discussion and also People's Entertainment.

In the business competition sub-event, BPIPI in collaboration with HIPMI Surabaya brought in investors from all over Indonesia to provide funding for Surabaya SMEs. Meanwhile, training materials or workshops for IKM include how to build a standard operating procedure (SOP), digital marketing, work productivity to special tips for developing the IKM business.

In addition, there was also a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) event that involved a number of stakeholders and discussed maximizing resources and potential to increase the competitiveness of MSMEs, as well as discussions on the procedures for organizing post-pandemic events for event organizer (EO).

Sesuai dengan hashtag #LokalBerdaya, BPIPI dan HIPMI Surabaya ingin mengangkat dan memberdayakan IKM terutama pebisnis yang ada di Surabaya dan sekitarnya. Mengingat potensi IKM di Jawa Timur khususnya Surabaya sangat tinggi dan mampu membangkitkan perekonomial lokal setelah dampak pandemi dua tahun terakhir. Harapannya kegiatan ini mempunyai dampak langsung kepada masyarakat.
